What if ?
from Letters to Juliet (2010)
I was watching the movie 'Letters to Juliet' which is set in Verona, Italy. Sophie, the main protagonist discovers that thousands of "letters to Juliet" left in Juliet's Verona courtyard are typically answered by the "Secretaries of Juliet", people who give out advices to help them with the problems they have stated in the letter dropped at the courtyard. Sophie accidentally finds an unanswered letter by a Claire Smith from 1957. She answers it with the following. May this letter encourage you to go seize it... in the movie it was love but it could be anything... a different career, a world tour... whatever it is that your heart desires! Do not be stuck with a 'What if'.
---
Dear Claire,
'What' and 'if' are two words as nonthreatening as words can be. But put them together side-by-side and they have the power to haunt you for the rest of your life:
'What if?'...
'What if!'...
'What if?'...
I don't know how your story ended.
But if what you felt then was true love... then it's never too late!
If its true then, why wouldn't it be true now?
You need only the courage to follow your heart...
I don't know what a love like Juliet's feels like... a love to leave loved ones for, a love to cross oceans for...
And Claire, if you didn't, I hope one day that You Will!
But I'd like to believe if I ever were to feel it that I'd have the courage to seize it!
All my Love,
Juliet
